Sterling Whitted is in his 7th vintage as winemaker for Holden Wines. His focus on Italian varietals came from trips through Northern Italy where he spent time with winemakers who practice traditional methods of winemaking. He sources fruit from sustainably farmed sites throughout Oregon, never pitches commercial yeast, no additions and minimal sulfur use just prior to bottling, allows as much time as possible on the lees with no batonage, and no new oak. No fining, no filtering.
