Our story takes place in a special valley in the Pacific Northwest…
The Willamette Valley is a perfect for growing grapes, with an amazing terroir composed of volcanic and marine sedimentary soils rich in minerals. Healthy vines thrive on these gentle slopes between the cascades and the coastal range, which allows us to produce some of the finest wines in the world.
Native Wines is a tiny winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley that makes less than a thousand cases of wine per year. We operate out of Carlton Winemakers Studio.
We work closely with farmers and vineyard owners to capture the rhythm of the grapes during the growing season. We control farming practices, and arrange picking times in order to produce wines that are a singular expression of time and place.
In order to achieve our goals in wine making, we stay away from commercial yeasts and chemical additives. The backbone of our project is based on being experimental. We constantly explore, discuss, and develop new techniques to improve our wines. We are proud to be part of a new wave of natural wine makers in Oregon, and to be able to deliver a wine with little to no manipulation, yet with its unique character and playful personality.
Natural, Experimental, Delicious.
